Biography
Jessica Felton is a student from Bowie State University, majoring in Visual Communication and Digital Media Arts with a concentration in Animation and Motion Graphics. At a young age she would watch many classical Disney and Pixar animated films and classic cartoon television shows from KidsWB, Nickelodeon, Jetix and Cartoon Network. She grew up watching favorite shows and films such as Bambi, Mulan and Avatar the Last Airbender, she began to appreciate and pursue storytelling and character development. She loved the way the characters move on the screen, the way they are animated and the way they feel alive in their own worlds.
Her works are influenced by many artists including Hayao Miayzaki, renowned animator and director of many Studio Ghibli films. He creates amazing worlds that expand beyond their stories. Aaron Blasie, animator for many Disney classics like “Beauty and the Beast” and the “Lion King”, inspires Jessica with his unique character design and animation. He makes his characters move on the page utilizing both traditional and digital mediums, making each character move with emotion and precision.
